Parent success in the Magoffin County Virtual Academy K-6 also depends on both the student's and parent's investment in this learning environment. Parent responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide reliable internet support for online learning for the student(s). The school will provide a Chromebook for use while enrolled in the Magoffin County Virtual Academy. The Chromebook must be returned to the school at the end of the school year.
Monitor student progress and contact facilitators with any concerns.
Ensure the student keeps pace with their courses and completes all assignments daily.
Understand that students enrolled in the Magoffin County Virtual Academy K-6 must follow and be held accountable to all attendance expectations, regulations, and laws.
Ensure the student's daily participation in classes.
Understand that attendance will be monitored twice per day: from 8:00am--10:30am and again from 11:00am and 1:30pm.
Make arrangements for students to attend mandated assessment sessions on-campus throughout the school year.

Attendance will be monitored twice per day for all students. Student attendance will be monitored from 8:00am--10:30am and again from 11:00am--1:30pm daily. Students are expected to log in and participate between 8:00am--10:30am and again between 11:00am--1:30pm. Students who do not participate will be counted absent.

Students enrolled in the Magoffin County Virtual Academy K-6 will follow the same calendar as in-person students. For example, if school is canceled for in-person students, K-6 Virtual students will be held accountable to all attendance expectations, regulations, and laws.
